Love Forever

This one, I believe is the best creation of mine. But I have not been able to give it a sufficiently apt name. Tentatively, I named it as 'Love Always' but later changed it to 'Love Forever'. But still I think that it does not even capture the lifeblood of the poem.

I admit that sometimes we fight
When the things don't go right
I know sometimes I frustrate you
I know sometimes I irritate you
I know sometimes I make you mad
But without you, I will be dead

I have always seen you as my better half
So I wanna make a promise on your behalf
That darling, you know that no matter what
You will always have the key to my heart

I can shed oceans of tears without saying a word
And I want to hide myself from this brutal world
But I cannot hide myself from the eyes of you
As both of us know that our love is pure and true

We might be miles away for a while
I might not get to see you smile
I might go lunatic a few days after
When I would not hear your laughter
I might not anymore watch you sleep
But your memories are not skin-deep

The true test of love is distance
It doubles the pleasure of romance
Distance brings lovers closer together
And we will love each other forever

PS: Please, suggest me a better name for this poem and do appreciate my effort if you enjoyed reading the post.

Beware of Love

"Beware of Love" is my cynical creation. I have taken love with a pinch of salt. I do not intend to become malignant towards true lovers.

When one starts to love someone, he enters into a new phase
He loiters on the love arena and each persona goes backstage

He turns into a moonstruck lover, to all and sundry
And to him, his all kith and kin become secondary

Love makes him dance on its tune all the time
To the extent that he can even commit a crime

He becomes someone he was never before
His life becomes like a ship offshore

I suggest you to do anything but love
Forget the world and fly like a dove

People keep saying that love is blind
But I'd rather say, "Please don't mind"

In fact, love can make anyone blindfold
Keep distance from love as I already told

Love spins its web all around you like a tarantula
"Beware of Love" remains my tried-and-tested formula

PS: Please, pardon me if it hurt you in any way and do appreciate my effort if you enjoyed reading the post.

Fever

Friends! You all must have heard of method acting. Now let me give you another term. Well, this happened to me as something like 'method poetry'. I was actually down with fever when I grabbed this one.

Baby, I have got fever
I am still bed-ridden
Can't you see my tears
They ain't at all hidden

I can't move my hands
To give you a tender touch
I am feeling so helpless
I curse myself so much

You and only you can make me
Get off this stinky bed
Come, give me the kiss of love
From your lips divine red

It's all been said and done
We are true heaven's friends
I know what I am doing
I leave my life in your hands

Don't leave me this moment
Then I would surely die
Maybe this is the last time
So let me kiss you goodbye

If They Were Not There

This is the poem I wrote for my seniors. I'm needless to say anything further. So friends, just feel it.

If they were not there, what would happen to me?
If they were not there, how would my life be?

Whenever I was desperate and my hopes got colder.
In a jiffy, a shape appeared to give me the shoulder.
The cloud of world-weariness cleared, one – two – three.
If they were not there…..

There have been times also when I was confused.
In the company of them, I felt a bit amused.
Now I reminisce we were so footloose and carefree.
If they were not there…..

We together lived ephemeral periods of joy and sorrow.
From life, some golden moments for the present, we did borrow.
At the end of the day, we got defeat and time got victory.
If they were not there…..

In a state of euphoria, we are spending a whole night.
All of us are elated together, nobody is in the plight.
Anyway, this is just a dream that I can’t foresee.
If they were not there, what would happen to me?
If they were not there, how would my life be?

Kashish

Kashish is a ghazal. Initially, I had wrongly assumed that I would be able to make it a sophisticated one but I was seriously mistaken. You can give it a reading.

Teri aankhon mein, jaane kyun, ek ajeeb kashish si hai

Isi liye aaj tak chandni raat mein sirf tapish hi hai

Labon par toh aaj bhi unke wahi muskaan khelti hai par
Nazarein keh jati hain unke dil mein koi khalish si hai

Mujhe gham dene waale, tujhe khushi ki dua deta hai woh
Jisne aaj tak dhokhe khaye aur aansuon ki baarish pi hai

Kar le jaalim tu, jitne bhi sitam tujhe mujhpe karne hai
Aake dekh, ab maine bhi apne sabra ki aajmayish ki hai

Rishtey

Hi all! Rishtey is a song through which I have tried to put my views about all sorts of relationships we human beings have with one another. Read it to agree or disagree with me.

Insaan ke banaye gaye rishtey bhi kitne ajeeb hote hain
Aksar woh log dhokha dete hain jo dil ke kareeb hote hain

Lamha-lamha zindagi gujar jati hai, tab ehsaas hota hai
Jinhe hum kabhi samajh nahi pate, woh apne habeeb hote hain

Aur jinhe hum apna humdard, humsaya, humsafar samajhkar
Har raaj batate aaye hain, woh dost na hokar raqeeb hote hain

Aap hazraat ko marne se aur mujhe zinda rahne se dar lagta hai
Hum to woh hain jo har din marhoom zindagi ki saleeb dhote hain

Din-raat ek karke paisa kamaya par yeh kabhi nahi socha
Ki daulatmand insaan dil se kitne bade gareeb hote hain

Ishq ke abhra! Jara khulke baras, mujhe shab-e-furqat ko ilm hua
Ki jin ko kabhi pyar nahi mil pata, woh log badnaseeb hote hain

Habeeb = Friend
Raqeeb = Enemy
Hazraat = Janaab
Marhoom = Dead
Saleeb = Cross used to crucify people
Abhra = Cloud
Shab = Night
Furqat = Separation
Ilm = Realization

Wake Me Up When The Lecture Ends

This is my parody of the super-hit song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day. I guess the title speaks it all. It's all about how a management student attends his lectures (no offense intended). Read it, enjoy it & forget it.

The teacher has just passed
but my nap can never last
wake me up when the lecture ends

like I have seen an H-bomb blast
ninety minutes has gone so fast
wake me up when the lecture ends

here comes the sleep again
slowly into my eyes
getting lost in fantasies
is never ever a vice

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when the lecture ends

The teacher has just passed
but my nap can never last
wake me up when the lecture ends

ring out the bells again
just like any class began
wake me up when the lecture ends

here comes the sleep again
slowly into my eyes
getting lost in fantasies is
is never ever a vice

as my memory rests
but never forgets what I lost
wake me up when the lecture ends

The teacher has just passed
but my nap can never last
wake me up when the lecture ends

like I have seen a H-bomb blast
a precious year has gone so fast
wake me up when the lecture ends
wake me up when the lecture ends
wake me up when the lecture ends
